Alliance Francaise de Lansing

Alliance Française de Lansing is a nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to promoting French and francophone language and culture throughout the greater Lansing, Michigan area. As part of a global network of more than 800 Alliance Française chapters worldwide and one of over 100 chapters across the United States, AF-Lansing brings authentic French cultural experiences and learning opportunities to the community.

The organization offers intermediate French conversation groups where members and guests can practice language skills in a supportive environment. Beyond formal instruction, AF-Lansing hosts regular events and activities designed to explore and celebrate French culture, history, and language. Members enjoy bi-monthly soirées featuring French cuisine, wine, and cultural conversation, as well as themed events centered on French holidays and traditions. These gatherings welcome French speakers at all proficiency levels, from native speakers to beginning learners.

AF-Lansing collaborates with francophone and francophile organizations throughout the greater Lansing area to expand French awareness and create meaningful cultural exchanges. The organization partners with local institutions, including Michigan State University's French Department and community venues like the East Lansing Public Library, to offer conversation cafés and other language practice opportunities. By fostering intellectual and artistic exchanges between the United States and the French-speaking world, Alliance Française de Lansing enriches the cultural landscape of Lansing while building connections between diverse communities.
