Alliance Francaise de Seattle

Alliance Française de Seattle is a comprehensive French language and cultural organization serving the Seattle, WA community since 1987. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AFSeattle offers French language classes for all ages and proficiency levels, taught by certified French as a Foreign Language (FLE) instructors with advanced credentials including PhDs and Master's degrees. The organization operates the largest French certification center in the Pacific Northwest, administering official DELF, DALF, and DAEFLE diplomas, as well as TEF and TCF proficiency tests recognized globally. Beyond language instruction, AFSeattle maintains a thriving cultural center that hosts concerts, lectures, film screenings, workshops, and exhibits celebrating Francophone cultures. The organization provides enrichment programs in Washington state schools, offering after-school French classes for students seeking to develop language skills in an educational setting. With over 1,200 active members and 2,208 course enrollments in 2024, AFSeattle has established itself as the fourth-largest Alliance Française in the United States by enrollment numbers. The organization features an extensive library of 4,000 French-language books and DVDs, online and in-person learning options, and a modern e-learning platform for self-study.
